Episode 5 - Double Cross

When two nuns
find a woman crucified at their parish, Nick and Warrick are called in
to lower the body from the cross. They note that whoever hoisted her up
there had to be strong enough to lift over 100 pounds. Greg notices that
the church’s sponsor is a car dealership by the name of Big Hombre
Motors. Dr. Robbins confirms that the victim was alive when she was tied
to the cross. Her cause of death is said to be suffocation. Catherine
notes that the victim was bleeding on the way into the church. When
Brass interviews the parish’s priest Father Frank, he notices blood on
his clothing. Father Frank says he broke up a fight at the shelter. His
clothes are sent in for examination. Sara finds a thorn in the victim’s
foot. Catherine follows the blood pool out to the church’s sitting area
where she sees a thorny bougainvillea bush and the victim’s high heel
and car remote. Grissom notes that the victim was strangled with rosary
beads. Meanwhile, Sofia interviews the owner
of the car the victim drove to the church: Hugo Bombay. Bombay identifies the victim as Charlotte
Danville and says she’s a friend from work who borrowed his car that
night. Hugo says that on the night of her disappearance, Charlotte met a car salesman from Big Hombre
Motors whom she fought with. Suspect and car salesman Cody White says he
was an old friend of Charlotte’s
and helped her out financially with a car and condo. Catherine notes
small traces of blood in her condo. Catherine also sees old pictures of
Father Frank, Cody and Charlotte. She finds a broken rosary underneath
the couch. Brass finds Father Frank and Cody fighting outside of a
confessional. However, when father Frank’s faithful sidekick Sister
Bridget comes forth with a bloody hammer and confesses to the murder,
the team questions the validity of Sister Bridget’s confession. With
clues pointing to Father Frank or Cody White, whose relationship with
the victim is strange given his marital status, the CSIs must analyze
the evidence to find their sinner.
