CSI: CRIME scene investigation
Season 7 -
Episode 20 - Lab Rats
Teleplay by Sarah Goldfinger
Story by Naren Shankar & Sarah Goldfinger
Directed by Brad Tanenbaum
Guest Starring: Wallace Langham as “David Hodges”
It’s a very busy night for the
Vegas crime lab. All of the CSI’s have been given case assignments
and are out in the field and Grissom is busy dealing with a rat problem
in the autopsy room.
Hodges decides to take advantage
of their absence to garner some glory for himself by finding the common
link between the miniatures in the miniature killer case. He
approaches the other lab techs and falsely leads them to believe that
Grissom has asked him to review the miniatures in a covert search
(covert so as to not offend the other CSI’s) for a common link.
As they review the miniatures we
flashback to each murder and subsequent investigation. Hodges and
the lab techs go over every detail of the miniatures and the
investigation notes and come up with nothing. As they become
discouraged with the lack of progress and as their current case loads
begin piling up on their desks, one by one the techs begin to abandon
Hodges.
Hodges discovers a
common link between all the miniatures, and is suddenly confronted by
Grissom who wants to know why Hodges is sitting in his chair and
examining one of the miniatures. Fearing the worst and hoping for
the best, Hodges explains his findings to Grissom who is actually
impressed and gives Hodges what he wants most in life, a nod of
approval.
