Writen by Dustin Lee Abraham
Directed by Bryan Spicer

Grissom and Nick are called to a stretch of road, in close proximity to the strip, where three anonymous teenagers – dressed in black- are found shot to death. The teenagers appear to have climbed the palm trees and then fell to their death after bring shot. Grissom finds a staple gun at the scene, which he believes the teenagers were using to secure their posters to the palms. Dr. Robbins hypothesizes that the murder occurred via a drive-by shooting. Nick concludes that the gun used at the scene of the crime was stolen from a cop.

Back at the lab, Hodges examines a steel rod found at the scene; he says that it is part of a custom hydraulic cylinder that matches a brand called reds. Warrick and Nick head to the custom car dealership where they question the salesman. The salesman ties the car to Jeremiah Calvin. Once spotted, Jeremiah takes Nick and Warrick on a dangerous car case. He tells the CSIs that the car belongs to his grandfather. Catherine heads to the Calvin residence to find 15-year-old Morris with a serious infection on his calf. Upon further examination, the boy was shot in the leg with a staple gun.

Meanwhile, Sara tracks down the custom car. She ties the blood on the soft-top of the convertible to the victim’s blood. Catherine confirms that Morris was at the scene as his blood was found on the staple gun. However, without a murder weapon the CSIs find it impossible to link Morris to the crime entirely. Searching for a motive for the crime, Grissom postulates that the murderers wanted something the teenagers had, which was with no doubt the posters. Back at the lab, Greg ties the posters to Troy Thompson; who owns a poster business. Thompson said a skinny black kid came in for numerous prints not too long ago; each poster had a picture of the famous rapper Dollar on it. Brass heads to Dollar’s hotel and finds mounds of clothing, but no Dollar. When he locates his car outside, Brass pops the trunk to find Dollar gagged and wearing bikini bottoms. He has no recollection of his kidnapping; however, the CSIs find a video in which the kidnappers shot of Dollar in a few very compromising positions.

Meanwhile, Sofia identifies the victims and realizes that they are members of a hip hop street gang constantly in war with the other gangs. After doing a bit of research, she comprehends that these kids will kill anyone who tries to promote a competing rapper.

The CSIs hit the streets to find the criminals motivated to kill for their love of music.
