Hollywood heartthrob Julian Harper arrives in Las Vegas with his entourage amidst a sea of camera flashes and adoring women. Hours later he’s found dead in the high-roller suite, his semi-nude body sprawled across the bed. There are no signs of trauma on the body, only mysterious black fibers under his chin. When Warrick and Nick examine the hotel’s elevator surveillance footage, they notice a sexy young lady in red leaving the suite and then receiving money from Julian’s ex-wife/manager in the casino downstairs. Is the lady in red a thief, a prostitute, or a hired killer? Or does Julian Harper’s death hide an even darker secret?

Meanwhile, a cab driver is found dead behind the wheel of his taxi, a gun shot wound to the neck. When Grissom notices something familiar about the last address listed on the cab’s dispatch log, he walks to a nearby location where Catherine is processing the bullet-riddled corpse of a Laotian man, Samay Tao, in front of an apartment – he’s cab driver’s last fare. Blood drops and a black mark across Samay’s shirt lead them to a second-floor apartment, and when Brass and his men burst inside, they find Keo Vipraxay, another Laotian, cowering on the floor, shotgun in hand.

At the coroner’s office Dr. Robbins notes that it’s “a bad night for Laotians,” as he shows Catherine the body of Noy Vipraxay, victim of a solo traffic accident. The three deaths are connected and lead Grissom and Catherine into the seamy, steamy underbelly of casino laundry workers desperate to get their piece of the American Dream.
