In the course of one day and night, Las Vegas’s finest crime scene investigators are kept hopping, working very diverse cases which randomly overlap.
It’s Grissom’s call when a stolen Hummer is involved in a hit and run. He traces the perpetrator to a local taco stand, where the owner admitted to dealing with petty thieves by throwing cooking fat at one and stabbing another when they attempt to rob him. One of them decides to get even by stealing the Hummer and trying to run over the owner and his stand, which even Grissom has to admit is the dumbest thing he has ever heard.
Warrick is called out to an auto show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where one of the models is found murdered in a recreational vehicle on display. He discovers that she was one of four accommodating women asked to “entertain” an important client, but when he rejects her because of her age, she infuriates him by finding a unique way to get even.
Sara and Greg investigate what looks like the bludgeoning death of a competitive body builder who was “stacking” – taking steroids – to give himself an edge. The steroids attacked his immune system, so when Dr. Robbins discovers black pus oozing from the man’s eyeball during the autopsy, and traces the cause to mold in his apartment, Greg and Sara need to be hosed down by a Haz-Mat team as a precaution.
And Nick reports to the scene when a boy is found dead on a bus stop bench, but Nick is able to trace the twelve-year-olds last hours, from getting drunk at his sister’s kegger while their parents are off skiing, to his death in a Laundromat dryer…all with a little help from his best friend.
