CSI: CRIME scene investigation

Season 5 - Episode 15 - King Baby

Written by Jerry Stahl
Directed by Richard Lewis

Casino mogul Bruce Eiger either jumped, fell or was pushed from his balcony, but the CSIs – both the day and graveyard shifts have been called into action-- quickly establish that the body was moved after it landed in the driveway.

Donna Eiger (guest star Wendie Malick) readily admits that when she came home from a night out, she found her husband’s body naked and dressed it to preserve his dignity, but that story soon proves false as the investigation continues.

First, Dr. Robbins points to damage to the man’s sphincter from repeated rectal insertions, and proof that Bruce Eiger had ingested drugs, which later turns out to be LSD. Then Catherine, already steamed that she is back working with Grissom on the case, is horrified to discover that someone has tampered with her camera and all the crime scene photos she took have disappeared. Rival casino owner Sal Magli (guest star Anthony Dennison), under questioning, admits to having had an affair with Eiger’s wife Donna. And when Catherine returns to re-photograph what’s left of her crime scene, she decides to check the trash cans out front and finds new evidence – adult-sized diapers – that leads the time to discover Bruce Eiger’s secret room – an adult-sized nursery where the mogul liked to dress up and act like a baby.

Now all the team has to figure out how everything fits with Eiger’s death. When questioned about her alibi, Donna Eiger admits that her husband was still alive when she found him, but she was more than happy to let him die but she did not kill him. The only thing she wanted was not to be embarrassed, which is why she changed him out of his diapers into his shorts and cleaned up the crime scene. If she didn’t help her husband over the balcony, who did? When milk found at the scene proves to be human, the team ascertains that there may have been a “babysitter” in the house that night. When they find the woman in question, she admits she was present on the night Eiger died, with a little help from a bad dosage of LSD, but she claims that Eiger had a bigger and more horrific secret than his infantilism, and that’s what got him killed.
