CSI: CRIME scene investigation
Season 3 -
Episode 6 - The
Execution of Catherine Willows
Written By Carol Mendelsohn & Elizabeth Devine
Directed by Ken Fink
When Catherine was a rookie, the evidence she
collected against serial killer John Mathers helped to put him on death
row for the murder of three Western Las Vegas University coeds. But now
his defense wants DNA evidence re-examined with methods that were not
available to him then. Catherine finds herself drawn back into the case,
questioning her findings – and questioning how she feels about the fact
a man whom a jury found guilty and sentenced to death may well be
innocent.
Meanwhile, Grissom and the rest of the team investigate the
disappearance of responsible young woman who shared her life with an
alcoholic father. When the CSIs arrive on the scene, Mitch Reston cannot
explain what happened to his daughter Debbie anymore than he can explain
why he is found wearing a blood-drenched shirt in the house they shared.
But when the body of Debbie Reston is discovered on the WLVU campus, in
much the same condition as John Mathers’ victims, the two cases collide,
putting the CSIs in the hunt to find a copycat serial killer, or, if
Mathers is innocent, the murderer who should have been behind bars in
the first place.
