The CSIs investigate when a female tourist volunteers to enter the Chamber of Doom during the Amazing Zephyr’s magic act, and then vanishes. When Grissom, Warrick and Sara arrive at the theater, they find blood in the chamber, and Zephyr cannot explain how his trick turned deadly.

Meanwhile, Nick and Catherine are called to the scene when the lead singer of a famous rock group is found dead. It appears that the singer died of a drug overdose, but his bandmates insist he was clean, leading the CSIs to suspect that someone close to the icon thought he was more valuable dead than alive.
