CSI: CRIME scene investigation
Season 3 -
Episode 14 - One
Hit Wonder
Written by Corey Miller
Directed by Felix Alcala
The CSIs are called to the scene when a young woman
is terrorized and sexually assaulted by a Peeping Tom. It soon becomes
clear that the attacks are serial, and becoming increasingly aggressive,
and the team realizes they will have to move quickly to catch the
perpetrator, before his MO changes to murder.
Grissom, Catherine, Nick and Warrick go to work – they have shoe prints,
they have semen, and they have fingerprints. They also suspect that
their peeper is working in a comfort zone – the women he has attacked
may all live in his own neighborhood. The evidence leads them to a
libidinous pool boy, who looks promising as a suspect – but when the
shoe prints don’t fit, they have to shift their attention. Grissom soon
finds a pattern in the type of apartment buildings their attacker
favors, but it not until there is another, more violent attack that the
CSI team comes up with the one piece of evidence they need to find the
right guy before he makes his next wrong move.
Sara, who is testifying in a different matter, finds out that her friend
Melissa, the district attorney, is reassigning their case as she is
facing life-threatening surgery. Years before, Melissa was crippled in a
home invasion attack that left her husband dead. Now the surgeons want
to remove the souvenir bullet Melissa’s attacker left behind, because it
is making its way toward her brain stem and may kill her. When Melissa
miraculously survives the surgery, Sara decides to take the bullet, more
viable evidence than the original investigators had, and try to find
answers to who attacked Melissa and her husband and why. Even though the
case is cold, and Sara doesn’t want to get Melissa’s hopes up, she is
able to trace the bullet to the gun. Even more amazing, Sara finds the
shooter – and his story is not the one she expects to hear about the
fateful night when her friend was attacked.
